Local Eats: Busy Bee Diner

Though we offer a complimentary continental breakfast here at the Beacon Inn, guests staying at our 1087 Beacon location looking for heartier fare or a mid-day meal are usually directed across the street to the Busy Bee Diner. This charming neighborhood institution opened in 1967 and looks like it hasn’t aged a day since. Offering typical American diner fare from omelets and pancakes to hamburgers and BLTs, the Busy Bee has long been a favorite of our guests (and staff too) for offering great food at low prices.

While we have our share of excellent restaurants in the city catering to the foodie crowd, the Busy Bee is worth a look if you want good, cheap food, or if you’re an international guest looking for the quintessential American diner experience. If you’re looking for “a snack or a meal,” as the neon sign in the restaurant”s window advertises,  stop by the Busy Bee at 1046 Beacon Street. Be forewarned that it’s cash only, but we like to think that just adds to the old fashioned charm (plus there’s an ATM conveniently located next door).
